From majesty to wild romance

This Baltic beach-side resort welcomes you with a pleasantly fresh sea breeze. Located in the "Klützer Winkel", it lies directly on the Baltic coast of the Boltenhagen bay. It's the perfect place for a long walk along the beach, or through the newly constructed town centre with its many businesses, cafés and restaurants. A particularly beautiful stroll takes you along the villa-lined beach promenade to the spa gardens. Two other highlights are the 290 m pier and the nearby cliffs, which offer a unique panoramic view over the Bay of Mecklenburg.

The city of Eutin, a former royal seat with many interesting sights, is nestled in the magnificent landscape of the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park. The historic city centre, which is laid out like a ring around the marketplace, is lined with half-timbered and neoclassical buildings. In this traditional atmosphere, you can saunter and shop at ease. And if you need a break, just head into one of the many restaurants and cafés to enjoy the regional specialities there.

Endless natural beaches await you on Fehmarn, as well as with inland lakes and ruggedly scenic cliffs along a total of 78 kilometres of coast. In the centre of the island, fields and meadows are ideal for long walks or bicycle tours. In mid and late May, the rapeseed fields are in bloom, blanketing the island in a stunning, glowing yellow sea of colour. Sunrises and sunsets there are a true natural marvel.

Its location in the Baltic shelters the island, providing it with a pleasant, mild climate all year long and more than 2,200 hours of sun. Fehmarn is also Germany's sunniest region – it's not for nothing that the island is fondly called "the Hawaii of the north".

Lübeck – City of seven towers

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, rivers flow around the historical city centre, with its approximately 1,800 listed buildings, charming lanes and winding walkways begging to be explored. Whether you're admiring the Holsten Gate, drinking a coffee at Niederegger, shopping on Hüxstraße or visiting the Willy Brandt Museum – Lübeck is always worth the trip!

In and around Travemünde

A sea of possibilities is waiting right outside your door! Originally a small fishing and shipping settlement, today Travemünde is a charming seaside resort location that is rich in tradition. The spa town offers lovers of the Baltic everything their hearts could desire: an architecturally striking beach promenade, expansive sandy beaches, an authentically preserved historical centre and impressive cliffs along the coast. Enjoy a walk along the beach, stroll down the promenade and the Vorderreihe or board a ferry for the Priwall Peninsula.

Holstein Switzerland

Discover a rolling landscape of unmatched beauty! Visitors young and old adore the Holstein Switzerland Nature Preserve, with its unique landscape of hills and lakes, worth visiting at any time of the year. Whether you set out on a sailing or paddling trip, a romantic picnic or a bicycle tour past magnificent castles, stately manor houses and idyllic villages – you'll simply want to be outside here!
